Los Angeles, CA— Heart disease and stroke are the number one killer of both men and women in America according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Los Angeles’s newest primary health provider, APAIT Health Center, is teamed up with the American Heart Association to combat heart disease with free Heart Checks on Valentine’s Day.
The Everyone Has A Heart campaign encourages residents of the vibrant Pico-Union/Westlake neighborhood to be more aware of the risks they may have. APAIT Health Center will provide free cholesterol and blood screenings on February 14, from 2pm-6pm. The American Heart Association will be on hand to educate the community about hypertension risks, which affect approximately 76 million Americans.
There will be free give-aways while supplies last. Spanish and Korean interpreters will be available.
Everyone Has A Heart is happening at APAIT Health Center, 1730 West Olympic Blvd. Free parking will be available. The health center is conveniently located on the corner of Burlington and Olympic Blvd.
